Miss Crazy, Driving?

Almost 2 years ago to the date I wrote this blog post: Driving Miss Crazy and if you haven't figured out by the title of this post, I am finally a licensed driver!

Crazy, I know! I almost can't believe it myself, but it's true. I honestly owe it all to my very good friend Tracy. She let me borrow her car (I did not wreck it or anything!), she practiced and practiced with me, and she gave me the confidence I needed. I'm still nervous when it comes to driving, but knowing that I can do it has really helped. I'll probably still start out slowly driving to local places here and there. But I am so glad that I can finally take the kids places now and not worry how I'll get somewhere or to appointments when my husband is working.

It's My Birthday and I'll Cry If I Want To!

Yesterday I turned 29. This is the last year of my twenties. Overall it was a great weekend of celebrating. And I didn't actually cry despite the fact that I burned my arm on the iron on Saturday right before going out and on Sunday I dropped my cell phone in the toilet.

Saturday night, my friend Emily and I did some shopping (Target and Old Navy). Where I bought this cute spring coat for myself for my birthday. I feel like I've been looking for a light weight coat forever and finally found one and it was on sale!

After getting some great deals we had dinner and then ran to a few more stores. We love finding good deals and we always seem to when we go shopping together!

On Sunday my cell phone decided to take a dip in the toilet. I was so mad at myself. I turned it off and took it all apart. We headed out to meet my parents for lunch at Iron Chef Grill. We hadn't been there before despite driving past many times. The chef cooks on the grill right in front of you. The kids had never been to a restaurant like that before and they really enjoyed it. The chef was great and made a volcano with fire and lava.

After lunch I ran to the store to get some rice so we could try the 'ol bag of rice trick to try to dry out my cell phone. We pulled all the air out of the bag and sealed it really tight with our food sealer. Monday morning was the moment of truth. I opened up the bag, put my phone all back together, turned it on...and it worked! It seems to be working fine, except for fogging up a little when I go outside, but it works and that's all that matters. I really wasn't sure what I was going to do since we got rid of our landline a few months ago and my cell phone number is the one we give to people now (ie. the girl's schools, doctors, etc).

Monday was a pretty low-key day. The kids went off to school, we ran some errands and picked up sushi from my favorite Sushi Bar for lunch. After dinner we celebrated with some cake and ice cream.

I'm looking forward to enjoying this last year of my twenties and accomplishing some major goals.

My Favorites: Cosmetics

I wanted to do a post about some of my favorite cosmetics. I am still selling mark. and want to thank my loyal customers for still buying from my eBoutique. I haven't had a lot of time to do much with my mark. business. Even though I sell the mark. brand, I like a lot of other brands of cosmetics too and I'm not the kind of person that says "Oh you should only buy this and this brand". I think it's all about personal choice and finding something that you really like and does it's job.

My first favorite product is Urban Decay Primer Potion. I think a good eyeshadow primer goes a long way. It helps your eyeshadow to stay in place and not crease especially if you have oily skin. A friend recommended this to me and I tried it and loved it.

Another product I really like and use all the time is MAC Eyeshadow in Shroom. I use it to blend my eyeshadow from my lid to my eyebrow and get rid of that harsh line.

I don't know if anyone else has this issue but I had the hardest time finding a mascara that didn't smear off of my lashes and leave marks right under my eyebrow. It didn't happen right away, just as the day went on. I tried several brands and it always happened. I decided to try Maybelline Volum' Express the Falsies and I finally don't get smeared mascara.

A brush set that I've really come to love is mark. Go With The Pro Mini Brush Kit. I think it's the perfect size to keep in your makeup case or throw in your purse. It comes with 5 mini brushes that are a great size without being too small that you can't hold them comfortably.

If you are in the market for some new cosmetics check out my mark. eBoutique or feel free to comment and I can give you some of my recommendations!!
