Being a mom is tough. I've been bumped in the head, hit in the face, toes stepped on, and lots of other minor injuries I'm sure. But today takes the cake. We borrowed my parents van for the morning since we had to go to a dentist appointment for my two girls and I have Grace today. I ran into Kroger afterwards to grab a few things. So we get home, park in the driveway and I open the sliding door to get the groceries that are on the floor right by the door before the kids get out.
I'm bent over and picking up the bags when suddenly I feel pain. Camryn, who was sitting in the middle row of the van by the door, flings off her seatbelt and it goes flying. The metal buckle hits me smack dab between my eyes. Now usually I can just "walk it off", but this hurt BIG time. It brought tears to my eyes and I had to just stand there for a few minutes. It bled a little and swelled immediately. I still have a slight headache too.
I'm sure that I will have a nice little bruise there or the very least it will be super sore to the touch for a while. Why didn't anyone tell me that being a mom is dangerous??
