So we got there around 4:30pm, checked in and walked around. The wedding was at 6pm. After checking out where the wedding was going to be held and looking at the beautiful decorations. We got dressed for the wedding. It was a simple and short ceremony. Which is always nice. The 2 bridesmaids wore red dresses ('cause it was Valentine's Day of course). The bride's dress was beautiful and she carried a bouquet of red roses. They stood under an arch of red and white flowers with lights intertwined. The lights were dimmed. It was beautiful.
After the ceremony, we headed to the next room down which was the reception area. The tables were decorated with white and black. There were red, white and black balloon arches. Dinner was chicken, ribs, baked potato and corn. It wasn't that overly fancy food. It was filling and good! The DJ was a regular one man band. He played the guitar, harmonica and sang. He also played all the regular wedding reception songs. The electric slide, the chicken dance, etc. I did get Jesse on the dance floor for one slow dance.
Breakfast was served until 10:30 and checkout was at 11:00am. I was hoping to be able to sleep in, but I was also starving on Sunday morning. We got ready, packed up and headed down to breakfast. It was a "breakfast bar" style and really good. There was also a chef making omelets, made to order. We checked out and then decided to check out the lake. I think this place would be alot of fun when the weather warms up. There are indoor and outdoor pools, a playground, putt-putt, shuffle board, the lake and nature all around.
So our weekend away was nice, we spent some much needed time together without the kids, but we were glad to get back to them. We kinda missed the little brats.
