Happy Birthday to Avery!

My oldest turns 7 today! I can hardle believe that I have a 7 year old, it's crazy! I'm sending in cupcakes to her class today at school. We also have a small party planned tonight with just 4 other girls. We are going to do makeup, nails, hair, make ice cream sundaes, dance around, eat popcorn and watch a movie. All the things that would be done at a sleepover, minus the sleeping over part. I'm not quite ready for that yet.

My husband, Jesse, turns 28 tomorrow. It's really kinda cool having their birthdays a day apart. We usually do a family get together to celebrate both of their birthdays.

It's getting harder to remember all the details of the day she was born. I remember that my due date was Dec. 13th which happened to fall on a Friday and also the start of finals week in college. I remember thinking that I really didn't want her born on Friday the 13th. I started having contractions, early in the morning on Dec. 3rd. Did the whole timing how far apart they were, how long they lasted. We went to the hospital when they were 5-6 minutes apart. Things at the hospital were pretty much the same. I remember having a lot of back labor and finally got an epidural. Epidurals are wonderful, except when they wear off. I'm assuming it was close to 11:45 pm when I was able to start pushing. Time pretty much seemed to stand still. I didn't realize how long it had been, but I pushed for one and a half hours and the reason was because she was "Sunny Side Up" (face up) as the doctors and nurses said.

She was finally born at 1:14am weighing 8 lbs 2 oz and 22 inches long with a full head of thick dark hair.

Happy Birthday Avery Marie !
