Yesterday the kids had off school because of the snow. I was able to keep them pretty busy during the day. There weren't too many fights. Only a few meltdowns. We colored, watched movies, played with pixos, played some games, more movies, and the kids played on their own. I was able to dodge the question, "Can we go outside?"
Yes. I am mean. I hate taking the kids outside to play in the snow. You have to get layered up in clothes (x 3), one of the kids usually has to go to the bathroom after the bundling is done, then you have to undo everything, then redo everything only to go outside for maybe 30-45 minutes before they are complaining about being too cold (oh wait. That's me complaining!). Then come in and take off the layers of wet clothes (x 3), start a load of wash, mop up all the wet spots where the kids didn't listen and take off their shoes at the door, but instead walked around in wet shoes. It's kind of exhausting.
Today is another snow day. I'm not sure I'll be able to entertain the kids like yesterday. They will be bored of being in the house, and doing the same thing they did yesterday.
And they will probably ask to go outside. Stupid Snow Day :)
