ab·sent·mind·ed

Adjective
(of a person's behavior or manner) Having or showing a habitually forgetful or inattentive disposition

Per usual, I have forgotten about the April Blog Challenge and I am a day late in posting for the letter A. So for this post, I am going to talk about my absentmindedness. I don't remember when I started to not remember things, maybe it was when my first was born or maybe some other time. If someone says to me "Don't forget to...." chances are I will forget. I don't know if I would call myself inattentive, because I feel like I can pay attention to things. I'm just forgetful. I've come to terms with this, so I have a few things in place that help me to not forget.

I don't know what I would do without my iPhone and my Google calendar. I have reminders and alarms and text messages all set up to go off at certain times. 2 days before an event, an hour before, etc. I would be lost without my phone. As soon as anything comes up I am on my phone putting it on my calendar with an alert. I also have a huge wall calendar in my kitchen. I will look at that thing at least 3 times a day, just to refresh myself. Next to that is a bulletin board that I attach school papers, dates of the kids projects, and so on. Things that don't necessarily have a date but are something I need to remember to do, like pay for spring pictures online and remember to send back the ones we don't want. Really need to take care of that today.

I'm thinking I need to set my alerts for this April Blog Challenge so I don't forget. I'm not going to promise that all my posts will be on time, clearly I have already proven that, but I will try my best to do all 26 letters in the alphabet.
