Noun
A large building or group of buildings fortified against attack with thick walls, battlements and towers
A few weeks ago we took the girls to the
Chateau Laroche, also know as the Loveland Castle.
The girls thought it was so cool that there is a real castle right here in our town. It was built by one man, Sir Harry Andrews (1890-1981). He started building it in 1929 for his boy scout troop, the Knights of the Golden Trail. It's pretty cool. There is a dungeon in the basement and a lot of pictures of the castle in its stages of being built. In some of the walls are rocks that Sir Harry brought back from all around the world. When Sir Harry died he left the castle to the Knights and they are the ones that maintain it today. There are also accounts of it being
haunted.
Such a cool place! I remember going there as a kid. Loved when they did the haunted houses there too!
