Blog Abandonment

Wow, it's been quite awhile since I posted a new blog post.  I didn't realize it had even been that long.  I guess the end of the year kept us pretty busy with Thanksgiving, Avery's birthday the 4th of December, followed by Jesse's birthday the 5th, impromptu flights to CA, Surro-baby Hadleigh's dedication, Christmas, visits with family and friends and tattoo appointments!

My first born turned 10 on December 4th.  It's pretty amazing to me that she is already in double digits, doesn't seem like she should be that old.  We had a party at Dave and Buster's for her the weekend before her birthday that a lot of fun.

The next day, Jesse turned 31 and celebrated his birthday in CA visiting his sick grandpa.  I was so glad he was able to make the trip out there and stay for a week.

On the 22nd of December we made another trip to KY to visit my (former) IP's and baby Hadleigh for her dedication at church.  We all went to lunch, then decorated ginger bread houses and had a very interesting fashion show courtesy of the girls and IF, John.  Sadly (Luckily?), I don't think there are any pictures for proof.  The next morning, we went to church where Hadleigh was dedicated.

Christmas Eve was spent hanging out at home with family.  The girls opened one present from us, which is always new Christmas pj's.

Christmas Day, we had breakfast with my side of the family, opened presents and just hung out.  Christmas Night we usually have dinner at Sister-in-law's house but unfortunately Jesse's dad was in the hospital too this Christmas so we made the best of it and all celebrated with him in his tiny hospital room.

My parent's gift to all of us, was a two night stay in a nice hotel with a pool so the girls could swim.  Jesse had to miss the first night and was out plowing snow but was able to come and stay the second night.  The girls swam, we ate and drank a ton of complimentary cookies and coffee, didn't have to cook or clean for two days and had a really nice time.

On the 29th of December, my sister and I drove to Columbus for our tattoo appointments.  Samantha got the "Forever Beloved" on her shoulder.  It looks really great.  And I added on to the leaves I already had, for a half-sleeve.  There are two birds, which is hard to see in that pic.  The branches and the wind were all done free-hand.  I am going back in February to have the birds colored and to add a few more leaves to the bottom.  I can't wait for it to be finished!

New Year's Eve sadly saw the passing of Jesse's grandpa.  We all knew that it was only a matter of a few weeks, and while sad, we were glad to know that he wasn't in pain anymore.  We stayed home and let the girls stay up to see the ball drop.  Camryn fell asleep a few minutes before but we woke her up to celebrate the New Year.

2013 has already been a pretty busy year.  Jesse and I flew out to CA for three days for the memorial service.  It was a whirlwind trip but I'm glad I was able to go with him and be with his family.  I'll have to post pictures on another blog post because this is getting long!

  1. Thanks for the update!! The Christmas PJs are cute and that's awesome that you got a couple days away from your parents. :) The tattoo is really beautiful.
