I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to run day
It's just another manic Monday
If you didn't know, those are lyrics to 'It's Just Another Manic Monday' by The Bangles.
I have a Love/Hate relationship with Mondays. I hate Mondays because it's the start of another week, having to get up at 4:30am and get the child I babysit (you bet I go back to sleep!), then set my alarm again so I can get my youngest ready for preschool. Mondays also mean the start of a new week of school for me. Notes to take, textbook chapters to read. Mondays are also clean up day. Everyone is usually home on the weekends and we try to do alot of our errands and activities over the weekend. Between not being home and more people here when we are, I just can't keep up with the mess they all leave behind. So come Monday morning, there are dishes in the sink, laundry to be washed and folded, odds and ends laying around. Monday also means it's almost Tuesday, and don't even get me started on Tuesdays!
I love Mondays because it means back to school for the kids and a few hours of peace! Now, please don't think I don't love my kids. Because I do. But moms need a little break now and then. It also gives me alone time with my kids separately. Camryn goes to preschool in the morning for 2 1/2 hrs. Avery goes to kindergarten after lunch. Monday nights are also when my all time favorite show (obsession!) One Tree Hill airs. I also watch The Big Bang Theory, Gossip Girl and The City on Monday nights.
Overall, I guess Mondays aren't that bad. If we didn't have Mondays, then our week would start with Tuesday, which would essentially feel like a "Monday" and we'd hate it just as much. Then the title of this blog would be "It's Just another Terrible Tuesday".
You forgot to put in the 'plus' column that on Mondays I'm back at work and can entertain you on IM!
ReplyDeleteOf course! How could I forget that..
